Bruschetta With mushrooms and cream cheese

Here's a simple recipe for bruschetta with mushrooms and cream cheese:

Ingredients:

  • 1 baguette or ciabatta, sliced
  • 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms, sliced (any variety you like)
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or any herb you prefer)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare the mushrooms:

    • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Add the sliced mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are browned and any moisture has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Prepare the bread:

    • Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet. You can brush them lightly with olive oil for extra flavor.
    • Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  4. Mix the cream cheese:

    • In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with chopped parsley and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  5. Assemble the bruschetta:

    • Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on each toasted bread slice.
    • Top with the sautéed mushrooms.
  6. Optional toppings:

    • If you like, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Serve:

    • Enjoy warm as an appetizer or snack!
